An engaged couple from Zurich, Erica and Hannes, were asked to babysit a good pal’s baby for the day. Being solid gold awesome friends, they said “sure.” When they arrived to baby watch, their nervous first time father friend, spent 20 minutes giving instructions and directions for his six month old son. Seeing as Hannes and Erica are two capable adults and watching a 6 month old isn’t rocket science, the couple decided to have a little fun. Each hour they sent Dad a photo update.
In true adorable and hilarious fashion, each photo showed them royally fudging the job up. Luckily for the internets, they posted their shenanigans for the world to see.
There was the time they got chased by a T-Rex…
Threatened by a Shark
Got on the wrong side of a King Cobra
Had a BEARy close call
And were abducted by Aliens
Because the world is filled with a bunch of un-fun party poopers, they were attacked by fellow Redditors for spending more time in Photoshop than concentrating on the baby. True Story: anyone who has ever taken care of a six month old knows that they practically watch themselves. They’re wiggly grub worms who can’t even crawl; change, feed and tickle a six month old kiddo and you’re pretty much Mary f*cking Poppins.
Nonetheless, Erica and Hannes responded:
True, we didn’t teach the kid how to read that day. We also didn’t expand his brain by playing classical music nonstop. We didn’t feed him an immune system boosting meal every 15 minutes. But he survived, giggled a lot was looked after the entire time by the two of us and went to bed at 7.30PM perfectly happy. And we will show him these pics in maybe 10 years or so and say: “Young man, we had an awesome time together that day”
This just in, these two lovable lovebirds are officially the greatest babysitters, ever. Bless you, Reddit…you never disappoint.
