Rest In Peace, Ultimate Warrior

James Hellwig, better known as professional wrestling icon, the Ultimate Warrior, has died at the (much too young) age of 54. He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

Ultimate Power

Ultimate Power

In a bittersweet twist, Warrior was inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame just this past Saturday and made a triumphant appearance on “Monday Night Raw,” two days ago.

Going out on top.

Sigh. This is the saddest news to hit pro-wrestling since the Hulk Hogan sex tape was leaked.

The last time we were this devastated was back in 2011, when Randy “Macho Man” Savage snapped out of Slim Jims forever and died unexpectedly.

In my champion’s heart, I know these two “Ultimate Maniacs” have been reunited in that great wresting ring in the sky.

Maniacs forever.

Maniacs forever.

If you want to see a masterclass in 1980’s wrestling greatness, please enjoy this gem from Wrestlemania 6. This is when the Ultimate Warrior kicked Hulk Hogan’s ass.

Here’s my all-time favorite Warrior moment, the time he went ULTIMATE POWER on Andre the Giant.

Warrior, Macho Man, Andre, all of them now gone, yet we still have Mean Gene.
