I’m a big Simpsons fan. Have been since I was in elementary school. Of course, my mother didn’t allow me to watch it, so I had to fill in the gaps during college. Thanks to the internet and DVR, I’ve seen every episode and love them ALL.
Yes, all of them. Many fanboys like to write off any Simpsons episode past 1994 as garbage. But the truth is, they never stopped being awesome. Even the crappiest episode has at least one laugh out loud gag, be it sight or otherwise.
One of my favorite episodes is the second season classic, “Oh Brother Where Art Thou?” It’s the one where Danny DeVito plays Homer’s long-lost, SUCCESSFUL brother, Herb Powell. In the conclusion, Homer bankrupts his brother by designing a universally reviled car called, “The Homer.”
Back in June, Porcubimmer debuted “The Homer,” at the June 30th 24 Hours of LeMons race in Buttonwillow, CA. The car’s concept is taken entirely from descriptions aired in that early episode of The Simpsons.
And for your viewing pleasure, Photographer David Moore did the world a solid and beautifully captured the details of this dream machine. Enjoy!
I think we can all agree the guys over at Porcubimmer are genius, and this car is well-worth the original 1991 price tag of $82,000. Fingers crossed an insane billionaire decides to get into the car manufacturing game by mass producing the amazing car that sprung from Homer J. Simpson’s psyche.
Slow clap for the crew responsible for this beauty (they finished in 5th place, BTW.)

Aaand because I couldn’t resist…
