Bob Staake is a living legend in the illustration world.
The New Yorker, Mad Magazine and The Wall Street Journal are just a few of the places you might have seen his work. Of course, Bob’s main calling in this world is illustrating books written for kids.
Don’t let his good work fool you, Staake is just as “not right,” as you and me. A coupla days ago, Bob unveiled his homage to mid-century children’s covers, “Bad Little Children’s Books.”
Whether you’ve got kids or have sworn off breeding, I promise you’ll laugh at these AWFUL yet incredible book covers.
Those of you who lost your sense of humor the moment you popped out a baby, best skip the rest of this post, YOU WILL be offended, I promise!
I don’t know about you, but several of those titles would have done me a solid growing up. I’d have to say my favorite is, “Let’s Eat Like a Carny.”
What Cover/ Book do YOU love most? Any that caused you to groan?
(Thanks Mark!)

All of those were ridiculously funny.
“A We Drive To A Remote Location Adventure” oh man. And Polly Paints A Penis? I appreciate that because I have the sad brain of a 15-year-old boy.
