The First “O.M.G.” in History!

Churchill is Forever

Ready for a revelation?

The geniuses at Letters of Note, have unearthed the first usage of the term “OMG,” and while the saying is greatly favored these days by surly teens, cool dad text messages, and Taylor Swift, the origins of the colloquialism are far more noble.

In a letter that was written almost 95 years ago to Winston Churchill, Lord Fischer unleashed the LOLZ when he used OMG for the first time.

Of course, now all I want to do is read Churchill’s reply, but since we don’t have it, I’ve decided to craft one myself…

Lord Fishy,

ROFLMAO.

True Dat! We’re ballers and all these press fools got it twisted.

Smell ya later,

Church
