GET SOME!
I have to admit, I’m not much of a political scholar, but I think I’d fit right in if I were ever to be elected to Jordan’s parliament, those tricks roll hard.
Last week, Mohammed Shawabka a member of Jordan’s parliament appeared on a Jordanian Political Talk Show and debated his nemesis, a political activist named Mansour Sayf al-Din Murad.
The two men engaged in a heated discussion that escalated to the point of shouting and name calling. As the host tried to calm the men down, Murad yelled that the politician was “A big crook.”
Well, them was fighting words and Shawabka took off his shoe and threw it at Murad. You know what I’m going to say here: Who Throws a Shoe? Honestly!
Shawabka realized the folly of his shoe-throwing and decided to double down on the crazy. Fool whipped a gun out of his waistband and brandished it like he was Clint Eastwood. The cameras rolled for the entire fight.
Luckily, “Dirty Harry 2″ didn’t shoot anyone and except for his dignity forever, nothing was harmed.

I’m not one to pass judgement, I’ve got a short fuse too.
Sure, I don’t pull out my piece the minute someone slings a missive at my character, but I’ve been known to fling whatever I can get my hands on at the time. From small electronic devices to a vat of rancid taco meat, I’ve thrown it all.
But the unnecessary gun play? Well, I can’t condone that dumb crap.
People die every day because some nitwit needlessly “cowboys it up” with a firearm. Shawabka is possibly going to be charged with attempted murder, and in addition to having this video of stupidity haunt him forever, he might do some jail time.
Real-Talk: Since his dumb stunt is now a world-wide viral sensation, he’s already been given a lifetime sentance by the internets. Good luck living it down, Mohammed Shawabka.

Arabs and their shoe throwing. (Remember the Iraqi who threw a shoe at George W.?) Pretty sure, after living in the ME for 3 years, a shoe that has been on a foot on someone who has been walking around out here is not one that I’d want thrown at me. Ick.
You my dear, are a stranger in a strange land…I’ve been mulling something over for a long time (since your comment on broadening children’s eating palates ages ago) would you ever consider writing up something and guest posting? It can be anything you like. I think you have many interesting things to say!
Hmmm. Let me contemplate that for a bit. What would be your topic of choice? I DO have some interesting things to write about, for instance, road rage while being a short-haired woman in an M3 and how well that goes over with Saudis…
