Feast Your Eyes on the Clothes That Inspired the Hunger Games Costumes

Effie Trinket-dealing with sullen Katniss, so you don't have to!

The Hunger Games, the first book in the trilogy by Suzanne Collins, was made into a movie that opened in the US today. I can’t wait to see it.

Because you’ve either read the book, or you’re totally disinterested, I’m not going to explain the plot or specifics, I’m just going to skip to the kick azzed fashion.

The Costume Designer for the movie, Judianna Makovsky (who also designed the clothing in the Harry Potter Movies,) took a great deal of her inspiration from First Lady of Fashion and Coco Channel’s #1 Rival, Elsa Schiaparelli

I know YOU may not be into fashion, but these pieces are incredible when you consider they were ALL made in the late 1930’s by Couture Goddess, Elsa Schiaparelli.

You read that correctly, all this stuff was made over 70 years ago. Rich Memaws sure knew how to dress!

And a little something extra for all  you fanatics out there, here’s a MAKEUP TUTORIAL video to help you get that Effie Trinket face!
