Ferris Bueller is BACK!

Cheers, Snitches!

February 5th 2012, AKA “Super Bowl Sunday,” most of the country will be glued to a football game, but me? I’ll be glued to the commercials. Why?

Because Matthew Broderick is reprising his iconic role of Ferris Bueller for a brief, magical commercial!!

For those of you raised on a commune, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is a 1986 blockbuster that was directed by the late, great, John Hughes. In my opinion (the only one that counts on MY site) it’s the greatest Teen comedy of all time.

Matthew Broderick went on to be a star in his own right, but to me…he’ll always be Ferris. Why? Because Ferris Bueller is the single coolest fictitious teen ever (sorry Katniss.)

Here’s a teaser for the commercial. The company that is responsible for resurrecting this pop cultural hero is currently unknown, but ALL will be revealed on February 5th (during the Superbowl telecast Ad breaks.)

Ya’ll know how much I have for professional sports (NOTHING!) but every year I sleep through the Super Bowl for one thing: THE ADS! The commercials are the most noteworthy thing to come out of the Superbowl games, if I had my way it would be called: “The Commercial Bowl.”

It’s FRIDAY, we are a little over a week from the (not so) Super Bowl and FERRIS BUELLER IS RETURNING TO HOCK A PRODUCT! I really don’t know what more I can give you folks in way of a SPRINGBOARD TO AN AWESOME WEEKEND!!!!

Real Talk: I’ve got my fingers, toes, legs, arms and eyes crossed that this is a commercial for a line of Abe Frohman’s signature Sausages. I hope that everyone rides the Ferris Bueller Commercial nostalgia train all the way to MOVIE SEQUEL STATION! Yes, I know John Hughes passed away, but his characters need to LIVE ON.

At the very least, the other stars need to come out with commericals…Cameron Fry for Xanax, Sloan Petersen for White Fringe Leather Jackets, Ed Rooney for Men’s Warehouse, the sky’s the limit!!!

UPDATE: It’s for HONDA and It’s Matthew, not Ferris. OF ALL THE LOUSY CHEAP WAYS TO MANIPULATE THE INTERNETS! Watch the FULL Ad here.
